Sean Martin is a resident of Camphill Community for people with learning disabilities in Glencraig, situated close by LOAF Pottery Crawfordsburn.

Loaf Pottery is a part of NOW Group. The profits made from their handcrafted Irish pottery are reinvested to support NOW Group participants and services, we like to call it 'Pottery with Purpose'.

When asked how he got into pottery, Sean describes how he was taught decades ago by an old colleague. Now, after 20-30 years of experience, Sean comes to LOAF every Thursday, making anywhere between 10-20 pots in under three hours! These pots are then used in the ‘Paint Me, Glaze Me’ workshops, which run at the Crawfordsburn site each Saturday, where spaces frequently sell out.

Here are all of the mugs made by Sean, which have been sold to customers

When asked what he enjoys about LOAF Sean smiles and says ‘Everyone! The people who are here every day.’ LOAF has given Sean an opportunity to hone his skills in a friendly environment which enriches his local community. Recently, Sean used the standing pottery wheel for the first time, and he has smashed it. Congratulations Sean and the achievements you have made with Loaf Pottery to date!
